What started out as two months morphed into two years backpacking alone thru 7 Central American countries and changed me forever. I met so many amazing people locally, as well as from abroad, who shared their stories with me and inspirations.  I had so many opportunities everywhere to lend a hand and that is what I did.  


Panama 

*worked w/the fishing coalition to educate locals about sustainability between wildlife & tourism.  *helped create a self sustainable market for local farmers using organic material instead of harmful pesticides
*Worked w/ locals teaching English


Costa Rica

*Habitats For Humanity
*Beautify The Beaches - worked w/locals & businesses on environmental issues and clean-up of beaches
*Worked w/locals teaching English


Nicaragua & El Salvador 

*Taught English to Locals and worked with non for profits bringing more necessary school supplies


Belize

*Was part of the Protect the Reef program - making fisherman/tourist agencies aware of the dangers of over fishing, the endangerment of species, & need for reef protection

*Managed Mara's Hostel in Caye Caulker for 6 weeks


Guatemala

*Casa Guatemala - worked w/abandoned, orphaned, and abused children teaching English and started a mini theatre program
*Tijax Resort - Tour Director on a 500 acre rubber plantation
                    
                    -Cared for 7 horses bathing/saddling/feeding
                    
                    -Supplied information on the reforesting Tijax was doing w/growing rubber trees to 
                     hopefully repopulate the rain forest floor, once again creating a canopy
                    
                   -Provided history about the Rio Dulce, the plantation, and the vast amounts of trees, 
                     insects, and wildlife living harmoniously in the 4 different habitats involved in the
                     tropical zones in surrounding areas.

*Worked w/locals on the harmful effects of living in and around garbage & longterm effects of
  littering

*Worked w/Christian Coalition translating letters from the underprivileged families to their sponsors

*Taught English

*Boat Cleaning Betties - Small company I founded to cater to growing needs of sailors in Rio Dulce
                                
                    -Recruited young women who were interested in learning new skills, 
                        responsibilities, and english
                    -created job opportunities in defunct market
